My top tips for a first-class project

Perhaps there is no magic ingredient for a successful project, but these two come pretty close and certainly make the process a whole lot easier:

• Focus on the report from the start. Make a document and put in the title and some section headings. Write your plans, ideas and notes in that docuemnt. Look at it every day or two. Keep adding bits tidying it up. In a few months you will have a really nice project report.
• Do a pilot project and finish it as soon as you can. This should be the simplest thing you can think of that is related to the project aims and can produce some kind of results. Plan this pilot project in your report.
